GOOGLExSTREETxVIEW

Who needs to travel if you have google street view? Been there, done that – so old school. Been here, googled that – now we’re talking. Uh okay, back to business: the German campaign runs in TV, print and online, illustrating the claim “life is a journey”.
This internet viral/information spot, done by our Berlin Team for the good folks at Kolle Rebbe takes the viewer on a journey around the world. In each chapter we see the most impressive things from google Streetview.
The team in Berlin took the best of Stop Motion, 2D and 3D Animation techniques, and combined it to this remarable journey.
4 WEEKS OF PRODUCTION
Below you can have a look at our production workflow. We start off with a sketched storyboard, which we then scan in and edit together. This is the animatic, which is also the edit, as in animation there are no outtakes, but we only produce the material we need. The second step is a so-called
Previz, short for previsualization, which bases on the timing of the animatic. Here we roughly block out the actual Camera angle and the position and rough movement of the elements. The last two steps are work-in-progress steps from the actual final production, in which we basically ‘color in’ the previz shot-by-shot.
