Ole Peters (born 1971 in North Germany) is a director and partner. His professional education started as a type setter, followed by freelancing as a graphic designer in the print industry. Being one of the professional motion design-pioneers with Desktop-Tools like Aftereffects in the 90s, he co-founded LaborTV and merged with Martin Woelke's Sehsucht in 2003. Since then Ole has won all major international creative awards. He is a member of the Art Directors Club Germany since 2007 and he has joined the Clio awards jury several times. His passion for design, animation and photography led to a powerful fusion of these disciplines, creating and directing pieces of intense visual storytelling combining CG and live action.
RAM 1500 – MOVING HEAVEN AND EARTH

Together with Markenfilm we have produced a TV campaign for the new Chrysler pickup truck Ram 1500, created by The Richards Group USA, directed by our creative head Ole Peters and shot in Canada by DOP Stefan von Bobely. The 60 sec. spot is jam-packed with our VFX specialties like violent earth quakes and tumbling rocks. We added VFX to more than seventy shots, creating complex 3D simulations and elaborate set extensions with intense support by our Concept & Design Department. The campaign highlights the Ram 1500 technological achievements which make natural forces and obstacles in the truck’s path retreat in deference to its groundbreaking technology. Winding roads straighten and overgrown paths instantly clear – the natural world is under complete control of the driver. Voice-over is by actor Sam Elliott („The Big Lebowski“) who also appears on camera at the end of the spot and whose deep, rich voice and "Western" appeal fits the Ram brand perfectly.

Grundig Cube

[:en]Remember how envious you watched that smart-ass in the school yard mastering the rubik's cube at light speed? Now you're a big boy and playing means either technical gadgets or footie to you. Here's two in one: soccer pros (from the German national team) play in an arena made of LED TV screens - "an excellent combination of performance and technology". Ole Peters directed this TV spot by our new VFX unit Uberdosis.

it's about money. there are multiple options what you can do with bank notes. again and again. spend it on some good stuff. roll it and let the good stuff hit you. fold it and fold it and fold it until the stuff looks good. at least the latter is exactly what we did for Swiss Bank Coop to advert their sustainable investment funds.

Mazda Heightened Senses

Enter a mysterious night world and experience the heightened senses of species which have to survive under hard conditions, thus having evolutionally developed an extreme sharpness of senses. Using their skills to enhance the human driver's abilities to control all danger sources he may encounter on the road, this Sehsucht production highlights the wide range of MAZDA's i-Activsense safety technologies.
The car makes its way through mystic, sometimes dreamy surroundings and gradually seems to absorb the wild creatures' special abilities which accompany the driver on his way, finally embodying the perfect fusion of the qualities provided by these animals’ extreme senses.

Deutsche Fernsehlotterie Paper World

Follow the paper flyer into Sehsucht's latest origami-style world of helping hands and improved communities. We produced the 30 sec. TVC "Paper" in full CGI for Deutsche Fernseh Lotterie, a charitable lottery, and their agency Zum Goldenen Hirschen, all three companies from Hamburg/Germany. Director Hans-Christoph Schultheiss and his team walked the tightrope between reduction and complexity, aiming to create the characters as human as possible but with a realistically foldable look that carries the complex textures of paper.

Mtv EMA 2012

Show package produced in partnership with MTV, for the 19th annual MTV European Music Award, broadcasted live from Frankfurt’s historic Festhalle on Sunday, November 11, 2012.
We created and directed a 20 second sequence, and opener, bumper and closer alterations from 2 to 20 seconds length, revolving around a huge Zoetrope, a fast-moving carousel which evokes the illusion of motion through a fast succession of static elements which come to life with a stroboscopic light.
The animated sequence is a journey through time and space, transcending the ancient Zoetrope concept which stems from pre-Christian Chinese culture to our modern global society. A band lives the American Dream, symbolizing the ascent of a basement musician to stardom across the horizontal zoetrope layers. They move from the underground scene to stardom with the help of their fans and social networks, finally reach the top of the carousel and perform at the MTV EMA.
The realization of the main trailer and more than a dozen alterations raised technical challenges and led Sehsucht to finding unique solutions. To be able to create an extremely realistic look, Maxwell Render was chosen as render technology. 3D design was implemented in the character design at an early stage.
The tool Pixologic Sculptris enabled intuitive character work by designing 3D characters and using the models instantly. Animating the elements was a further challenge since the complete zoetrope is a virtual scale model, nothing is faked. Therefore, everything had to work in loops built in 24 single 'sculptures'.

Pictoplasma 2012 Opener

This year's Pictoplasma theme, doomsday, inspired the trailer for the world’s largest festival of contemporary character culture to tell a story around a Macy's Day parade full of twisted characters. Far from the gloom and doom which usually goes along end-of-day stories, Mate Steinforth's pink creatures invade a vacant city and make it their own.

The Ostrich short
We Think Things is a colorful design studio specialized in motion graphics, character animation and other thoughtful things. It was founded by motion graphics artists and directors Pascal Monaco and Felix Meyer (both born 1986 in Hannover). They studied communication design with an emphasis on 2D animation and graduated in 2011 with the short film Hitch. As a design duo and directing team, they are mainly driven by the urge to tell a story. While being influenced by the simplicity of graphic design they soon started to focus on a more minimalistic and colorful approach to motion design and animation. Their work has been screened on festivals in Berlin, Paris and New York and was awarded at ADC Germany Junior Awards in 2011.

TOYOTA – THE OUTSIDE CAR

What makes you a grown-up? Is it a proper job or a driver's licence? It's tricky to answer this question and actually we love to keep on seeing and doing things from a child's perspective. Just like the joyful and colorful cartoon character Marco Dottori does in our new clip for Toyota's Stories Of Better – he will never lose that passion of a child.
We produced this charming looking 2D-animated short film in cooperation with our new Sehsucht talents Felix Meyer and Pascal Monaco from We Think Things. Have a look at the smooth and still remarkably warm style!
